A phone is left with a scrap of paper holding a name and a number, the deposit goes into the drawer unrecorded, and the customer calls daily to ask if it's done. In the end nobody knows what repairs really earned.

This post walks through how Mobilat handles a repair step by step, from drop-off to handover, what the customer sees, and where the limits are.

Drop-off in seconds

From the repairs screen you open a ticket and record:

  • The device and its fault.
  • The IMEI and passcode, if the customer gives them.
  • The deposit you took.
  • The technician who will work on it.

If you sold that phone, its sale date and warranty show up automatically, so you see right away whether it is still covered.

Tracking the status

The device moves through three stages: received, in repair, ready. Search any ticket by its number or the customer's phone, so there is no paper to dig through.

Parts and labour

Add the part from your stock and add your labour. Spare parts have their own stock and cost, kept away from the POS.

If you have to buy a part for the job, add it as bought for the job: it enters your spare-parts stock at cost, owed to the supplier or paid from the cash box. Remove it from the ticket and it stays in your stock.

Handover and payment

At handover the deposit comes off by itself and the customer pays the rest in cash or by wallet. Handover is treated as a normal sale: the part leaves stock, the money lands in the cash box or wallet, the invoice makes itself, and every report sees it.

If the customer declines or the phone can't be fixed, close the ticket as returned unfixed with a reason. Then refund the deposit from the cash box, or keep it as customer credit.

Customers check without calling

If you switch on your shop page, the customer enters the ticket number and the phone they left the device under, and sees the status and expected date. Costs, parts and other customers' details never show. Don't want it? Turn it off in the page settings.

There is also a WhatsApp button with a ready "your device is ready" message and the amount due.

Technicians and profit

Technicians receive, repair, hand over and collect without seeing cost or profit, and can earn a share of the labour that goes into payroll. You see labour, margin on parts and net profit on every ticket, if you have the cost permission.

Limits

  • The IMEI is checked only for a valid 15-digit format. Mobilat doesn't look it up anywhere.
  • Selling fully offline isn't supported yet, so you need internet.

Try it on a demo shop from the test page without signing up, read about the repairs feature, or see the pricing, which starts with a 14-day free trial.

Frequently asked questions

Does the customer need an account to track the repair?

No. Just the ticket number and the phone. You can turn it off in your shop page settings.

What if I buy a part just for one job?

Add it as bought for the job: it enters spare-parts stock at cost and is owed to the supplier or paid from the cash box.

What if the phone can't be fixed?

Close the ticket as returned unfixed with a reason, then refund the deposit or keep it as customer credit.

Can technicians see profit?

No. Technicians work without seeing cost or profit. Only people with the permission see it.
